Austin and Nate bring complementary experience to every project, combining horticulture knowledge and construction expertise to deliver thoughtful, dependable outdoor work.

Austin’s foundation is in horticulture and plant education. He studied at Olds College and gained hands on experience working at the Calgary Zoo and alongside community contractors, where long term plant health, soil conditions, and proper care were essential. Austin is passionate about helping homeowners understand not just what is being done, but why decisions are made and how to properly care for their yard long after the work is complete. Education, transparency, and long term results guide his approach.

Nate brings a background in carpentry and construction, with experience working on City of Calgary contracts that required precision, accountability, and consistency. He understands how outdoor structures are built to last and values doing things right rather than doing them quickly.

As they entered a new season of life and began planning for their families, they saw an opportunity to build something intentional. Austin wanted to create stability and flexibility as his wife prepares for maternity leave, while Nate shared the same desire to support his family through steady, meaningful work. Sage and Stone was created to bridge that gap, allowing them to work locally, take pride in their craft, and build a business rooted in responsibility rather than shortcuts.
